Welcome to Temple Shaaray Tefila’s Religious School
Temple Shaaray Tefila Religious School nurtures a love of Reform Judaism in every student, encouraging them to discover their own meaning, connection, and purpose as part of our community. This year we have adapted our curriculum to respond to the current times and are providing our programs online until at least the end of December when we will reassess based on the most current information available at the time. We know that the wisdom of Judaism has the power to support us and our children during this moment, and our curriculum this year will tap into that power to enhance our programs to meet the needs of our students and their families.
Students may enroll in one of two online options for children in Kindergarten through 5th Grade – either a virtual grade level program once or twice a week or our MASA family education program. Our sixth and seventh grade students attend one afternoon per week, with separate Hebrew language instruction in the sixth grade to prepare them for their upcoming b’nei mitzvah experiences.
To reap the benefits of our multifaceted program, we encourage parents to enroll children in Kindergarten through 12th Grade, but we welcome students at any point in their Jewish journeys. We offer an introductory monthly PreK program open to current members and families who are not yet members of Temple Shaaray Tefila for those interested in experiencing a taste of our school.
Please do not hesitate to call us in the Religious School office at 212-535-0912 if you have any questions. We look forward to getting to know you, and developing relationships with each of you during the year.
