UPDATE: Donation Collection for Ukraine
COLLECTION DEADLINE IS EXTENDED THROUGH APRIL 14
Thank you to everyone who has generously donated desperately needed items for refugees fleeing Ukraine. We recently dropped off the first shipment at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Manhattan’s “Little Ukraine”, and it is now on its way to those who need it.
We have also received an update about donation collection for Ukraine from our longtime partner in much of our social justice work, Manhattan Together, and want to share it with you. If you wish to donate supplies, please refer to the listed items below.
WHO:
We (Manhattan Together), in connection with St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Manhattan’s “Little Ukraine” is helping to get supplies to refugees and civilians caught on the front line. ONLY SPECIFIC ITEMS should be collected and delivered to volunteers from St. George’s who will help to ensure that the donated supplies are delivered to Ukraine. Because of St. George’s deep ties to Ukraine, they will help target the supplies into the neediest and most war torn areas, especially in the Eastern parts of the country.
HOW:
From the church, the supplies are driven to New Jersey. From New Jersey they are flown to either Romania, Moldova, or Poland, and from their destination they are driven by convoy into Ukraine. Very few supplies stay on the border, and the vast majority are going to Eastern Ukraine. They have done this multiple times already and have a team of dedicated volunteers at the church that are there from 9:00am-8:00pm every day helping to field supplies.
WHAT: (The Church is collecting ONLY the supplies listed below. All supplies must be new and unopened.)
