Celebrating 100 Years as a
Reform Jewish Congregation
On Saturday, October 16, Temple Shaaray Tefila celebrated their 100th anniversary as a member of the Reform Jewish movement with a special event featuring some of the movement’s most prominent leaders.
The evening opened with welcoming remarks by Shaaray Tefila Board Member Kyle Solomon, followed by a moving Havdalah service led by Rabbi Sarah Reines and Cantor Todd Kipnis.
Rabbi Mosbacher led an enlightening and informative conversation with special guests Rabbi Rick Jacobs, President of the Union of Reform Judaism, Dr. Andrew Rehfeld, President of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Rabbi Hara Person, Chief Executive of the Central Conference of American Rabbis, and Cantor Claire Franco, President of the American Conference of Cantors, covering such topics as the changes and growth of the Reform Jewish movement throughout its history, the future of Reform Judaism as a movement, what it means to be a Jewish movement in the 21st Century, and Temple Shaaray Tefila’s place in that movement as we look to the next 100 years.
