“This is the fast I want – share your food with those who are hungry!”
(Isaiah 58)
Everyday, families in our own neighborhood go hungry. On our one day of fasting, we follow the Jewish tradition of denying ourselves food. Many of our neighborhood’s families do not have this privilege of choice. But, we can make a difference!
This year, our High Holy Days Food Drive will support the Backpack Buddies mission of filling “backpacks” with 6 weekend meals to send to the children and their families of our partner organizations at the LSA Family Health Services (LSA) and Association to Benefit Children at the Graham School (ABC)
ABC-The Graham School https://www.a-b-c.org/early-childhood
LSA-After School Program https://littlesistersfamily.org/programs/k-5-enrichment/)
We also provide an Emergency Food Pantry for the Scholars in the NCS SCHOLARS program.
Backpack Buddies is funded 100% by donations and fundraisers run by our dedicated teen congregants. Without the generosity of donors to buy the food, we could NOT have a Backpack Buddies Program.
How can I help?
