JANUARY 11, 2021

From our Immigration Justice Task Force lay leaders, Jennifer Wendy and Mindy Tindel:
Thanks to the outpouring of generosity from the Shaaray Tefila community, we collected almost 90 children’s winter coats in less than two weeks and had the coats delivered to Afghan refugee children staying at Fort Dix army base in New Jersey. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort!

DECEMBER 6, 2021

Thanks to the outpouring of support we have received from our Shaaray Tefila community, we will be able to move forward and sponsor an Afghan refugee family.

We have raised almost $30,000, which ensures that we can guarantee a year-long housing lease for a family that will be coming to this country with little money, no credit history, and no U.S. work history. These funds will also support the work of our committees in supplementing food in the early months, helping with winter clothing, and providing other necessities. We have also heard from many in our community who will generously give their time to help with this project.

Stay tuned in early January for more news and updates. Meanwhile, if you are interested in volunteering and have not yet signed up to help, please sign up below.
