Shabbat

Shabbat is a gift, and we invite you to unwrap that gift each week with us at Shaaray Tefila. Shabbat gives us a chance to breathe in together at the end of the week, to recharge our spiritual batteries, and to rededicate ourselves to the work we are called to in the world.

At Shaaray Tefila, Shabbat is a time to find rest, inspiration, and community. We pride ourselves on joyful music and offer a blend of traditional Reform Jewish worship with innovation.

We invite you to come as you are. If you are feeling spiritually full or empty, if you are dressed to the nines or dressed for casual Friday, if you went to Jewish Day School or have never read a word of Hebrew, you will find a spiritual home at Shaaray Tefila.

Shabbat Worship Opportunities

*Erev Shabbat

Fridays @6:15pm
September-June in the Sanctuary, July-August in the Raisler Room

*Shabbat Morning Sanctuary Service

Most Saturdays @10:00am (check our calendar)
We rejoice with the families of our bnai mitzvah, celebrating the hard work and dedicated learning of our community’s young adults as they affirm their commitment to living Jewishly.

Chapel Minyan

Saturdays @10:15am
A more traditional Reform service, this Shabbat worship opportunity takes place in our 2nd floor chapel and is led alternately by members of our clergy as well as lay leaders. At 12:15pm immediately following the chapel service, members of the congregation are invited to study the weekly Torah portion together in Torah Study.

Tot Shabbat

Once/month, October-June on Fridays @5:15pm and Saturdays @9:30am (check our calendar)
Geared to families with children age 5 and younger, Tot Shabbat is a chance for your family to engage in a fun, warm, and accessible Shabbat experience. Saturday mornings include a light breakfast and family craft activity.

L'dor Vador

First Friday of each month, October-June @6:15pm
Our monthly L’dor Vador intergenerational service features your favorite Jewish melodies back by a full band, a brief Torah reading, and a celebration of birthdays. An even more participatory worship experience, it is often co-led by our clergy team together with young people from our religious school community.
