Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel taught, “music is the only language that is compatible with the wonder and mystery of being.” At Shaaray Tefila, we believe in the wonder and power of music.
Music lifts our souls and spirits during worship services and special musical programs and concerts.
Is your child interested in adding their voice to Shaaray Tefila? Join one of our wonderful congregational youth choirs! Under the direction of Cantor Todd Kipnis, your child will have the opportunity to connect with other music lovers, experience Jewish music from the traditional to the contemporary, and perform at Shaaray Tefila worship services and programs with the occasional event out in the community – like our Junior Choir performing the National Anthem at Citi Field!

Shir Leadership, Our Teen Choir
This opportunity allows for teens to gain valuable experience as music and worship leaders and find inspiration from the prayers and melodies they perform. Choir members participate through solos and ensemble singing in worship services and music programs throughout the year. Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings.
Shaaray School of Rock, Our Junior Choir (grades 2-7)
Join our choir that has performed – beautifully, we might add – the National Anthem at Citi Field for the last several years! It is also an opportunity for your child to perform at worship services, holiday events, and music programs throughout the year. Rehearsals take place on Sundays from 11-11:30am.
