Holidays
As we journey through the year, our Jewish holiday cycle invites us to pause and find meaning and inspiration during sacred festivals and commemorations.

The Shaaray Tefila community celebrates Jewish holidays with a spirit of discovery, warmth, and rejuvenation.
“Remember to build a life as if it were a work of art.” - Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel
We cannot escape life’s unpredictability, but our rituals and holiday observances serve as anchors in our lives. Jewish tradition punctuates the rhythms of our lives with sacred days. These holy times ground us, reminding us that we are part of something greater, something that came before us and will continue after us. As we journey through the year, our holiday cycle invites us to pause so that we take in the wonders of our lives.
When we dance with our sacred scrolls on Simchat Torah, mindfully enter the new year on Rosh Hashanah, savor the bounty of blessings in our lives on Sukkot, meditate on destruction and restoration on Tisha B’Av, kindle lights of hope and fortitude on Chanukah, or bring alive all of the other Jewish festivals and holy days, our congregation and clergy celebrate the blessing of a shared experience. At the same time, these celebrations provide for personal renewal and reflection.
