Starting on November 6, you can order a box of colorful Chanukah candles to give to your congregational friends, family, classmates, teachers, and clergy. Spread holiday joy and warmth this season, make someone’s day, and help make our synagogue continue to be the warm and welcoming place we all know it to be!
The first box of candles you order is $18, and each additional box is $10. Recipients will receive only one box, but with personalized greetings from all senders. This year, candles can only be gifted to those in the Shaaray Tefila community.
Sales open November 6 and close November 28.
Each member will receive an email with all the details and a personalized link to order. Purchases can be made via credit card or check, and a portion of each order will be a direct donation to support the temple. If you would like to pay with a check, please make sure that it arrives at the temple no later than December 1.
In addition, for a one-time fee of $36 you can opt into a Reciprocity Service. This ensures that anyone giving you a box of candles receives a box and custom message from you in return. The best part: no one will know who ordered first! Please note that this option is only available after ordering at least one box of candles.
Recipients can then come in person to pick-up their candles prior to Chanukah between December 1 and December 8.
VOLUNTEERS
We are looking for a team of volunteers to wrap candles and get them ready for in person pick-up prior to Chanukah, and to man our pick up tables.
There will be two wrapping parties on Sunday, November 19 @11:00am-12:30pm and Tuesday, November 21 @9:00-11:00am. Candle Pick-up will take place from Friday, December 1-Friday, December 8. Wrapping parties and in-person pick-up will take place at Temple Shaaray Tefila.
