Join us for an evening with Leah Koenig, IACP award-winning author of seven cookbooks including the acclaimed, The Jewish Cookbook and Modern Jewish Cooking. Her newest cookbook, Portico: Cooking and Feasting in Rome's Jewish Kitchen was the IACP 2024 International Cookbook winner and a finalist in the National Jewish Book Awards. Leah's writing and recipes can be found in The New York Times, New York Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and Food & Wine, among other publications.
La Dolce Viat - Roman Jewish Sweets
This DISH session with Leah will explore Rome's 2,000 year old Jewish history, with a special focus on the sweet world of Roman Jewish desserts. Learn more about the Sephardi influence on Rome's dessert table and the story behind the city's famous 200-year old kosher bakery. Leah will demonstrate how to make a recipe from her newest cookbook - Sweet Citrus Ring Cookies (Caimbellette).
