Who we are
We are a synagogue with over 700 member families that strives to provide opportunities for our congregants to actively seek meaning, connection, and purpose.
We are a proud member of the Reform Movement, a progressive Jewish congregation with a rich 180 year history.
Where we are
You can find us at the southwest corner of East 79th Street and 2nd Ave in the heart of New York City’s Upper East Side.
FUN FACT: Our building, which has served as our spiritual home since 1958, used to be a movie theater!

How can I learn more and/or take a tour?

What are your membership dues?
Our dues vary by age and family structure. Our membership year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30.
What is Enhanced Membership?
Enhanced Membership offers the opportunity to strengthen your commitment to Shaaray Tefila by increasing your financial commitment from a Regular Membership to an Enhanced Membership level. Enhanced Membership offers exclusive benefits including private events to engage with our clergy, reserved section seating during the High Holy Days, and other social gatherings and acknowledgments throughout the year.
Are High Holy Day services included in my membership?
Yes, as part of your membership, you receive access to High Holy Day services for all members listed on your account, which includes children up to age 26. Additional guest access may be purchased separately.
