About High Holy Days

We look forward to welcoming everyone into our sanctuary for the High Holy Days. For those who prefer to join us from home, all services will be livestreamed. Being together as a community during this holy time of year is an important and invaluable experience, and we want to welcome everyone into our sanctuary who wishes to join us.

On Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur mornings, we return to two morning services, and are offering two different worship experiences that will create a meaningful High Holy Days for all.

  • Our Traditional Reform Service will incorporate all the touchstones of our Rosh Hashanah (September 12) and Yom Kippur (September 21) morning services. This service begins at 8:45am and runs approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes on both holidays.
  • The Essentials Service will highlight the core prayers, music, and teachings of Rosh Hashanah (September 12) and Yom Kippur (September 21). This service begins at 12:30pm and runs approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes on both holidays. It is thoughtfully abridged without losing depth or intensity and includes a full sermon. It is ideal for worshippers seeking a moving experience in a shorter, more accessible format.
  • On Yom Kippur day, both the Traditional Reform Service and the Essentials Service will include Yizkor.

Important Information:

  • We no longer issue paper tickets. Upon arrival, please check in with a member of our staff at the entrance on East 79th Street.
  • We encourage you to arrive on time. Doors will open 30 minutes before services begin.
  • All adult children 27 years or older must have a guest ticket (see form below).
  • Tot Family Services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur will take place at 3:30pm for families with children ages 0-5.
  • Due to space constraints, no strollers are permitted inside the building or left outside unattended.

Members must be in good standing (paid in full or with a payment plan in place) to have access to all our High Holy Days services and programs – both in-person and online broadcasts. To be in good standing, your dues, security assessment, building assessment, and tuition payments must either be paid in full by Tuesday, September 1 or current with an arrangement or payment plan. Visit the Member Portal today to check your account balance.

For members who are not able to join us in person, livestream of our services will be available and the links will be emailed to you the day before the holiday begins.
