Tikkun Leil Shavuot Special Study Session & Dinner
At Mount Sinai, Torah was given once—but ever since, it has been argued, expanded, and reimagined by human beings daring enough to take responsibility for it.
On Erev Shavuot, as we gather to celebrate the giving of Torah at Sinai, we will explore three unforgettable Jewish stories that ask a daring question: once Torah is given, who gets to shape it?
From a heavenly voice overruled in the story of the Oven of Achnai, to the courageous plea of the daughters of Zelophehad, to Moses himself sitting bewildered in Rabbi Akiva’s classroom, these stories invite us into a living tradition—one shaped by argument, moral courage, and human partnership with the Divine.
Rabbi Mosbacher will lead a teaching during which we'll discover how Shavuot is not only about receiving Torah, but about the sacred responsibility to interpret it, challenge it, and make it our own.
Advance registration is required by May 19.
