Sisterhood Presents: What’s Jewish About Breast Cancer and Ovarian Cancer?

In person only
Members only
Join the Temple Shaaray Tefila Sisterhood for a community panel and care package project with Sharsheret.
1 in 40 women and men of Ashkenazi Jewish descent carries a mutation on the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene, compared to approximately 1 in 400 in the general population. For this reason, Sisterhood has partnered with Sharsheret for a community panel, which will include a representative from Sharsheret, two Temple Shaaray Tefila breast cancer survivors, and medical professionals. Following the panel, we will have a care package project to send to a local infusion center. See below for more information on how to donate items for packing and to register. We will also be collecting bras to donate, please read below for further information.

As part of this program, we are assembling care packages for women undergoing treatment. These care packages will be delivered to a local infusion center.
We are collecting items recommended by Sharsheret to include in the care packages. You can view and purchase needed items from our Amazon wishlist. Please make sure you order through our link only.
We are also collecting bras to donate to I Support the Girls, an incredible organization that helps women and girls in need access essential items with dignity and confidence. They accept all types of bras as long as they’re either new or in good condition. This includes all sizes, from training bras to extremely large bras, in every sort of style and color. Every woman and girl deserves a bra that feels just right. Since that’s so deeply personal and unique, they collect all kinds.
Bra collection will take place on the evening of April 16 only. Please bring your donations with you that night.
