Wake Up Each Morning and Choose Hope
As we approach Rosh Hashanah and the Ten Days of Repentance after a heartbreaking, harrowing year, how can we cultivate the capacity to hope? How can we muster the ability to believe that we can be better people and that the world can be a better place? Ghadir Hani, a Palestinian citizen of Israel and an award-winning peace activist, said in a November 2023 webinar on trauma: “So how can hope grow in these fields of blood and trauma?…We must wake each morning and choose healing, comfort, empathy, and hope.” We will explore a range of biblical teachings about hope that offer us insight and inspiration as we enter the new year.
