These are deeply fraught times for Jews in our community, our city and around the world. In response, Temple Shaaray Tefila, in partnership with the Nexus Project, is proud to host a vital and timely program for Jews committed to protecting democratic rights and freedoms while actively combating antisemitism.

Join us on Thursday, September 18 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Temple Shaaray Tefila, 250 E. 79th Street.

We will hear from a **panel of guest speakers **that include **Amy Spitalnick, **CEO of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, **Rabbi Rick Jacobs, **President of the URJ, **NY State Senator Liz Krueger, **and **Becca Israel, **Director of Strategic Engagement for the Nexus Project (who will moderate the panel).

The panel will explore the causes of today’s rising antisemitism; how threats of antisemitism are compounded by our community’s growing divisions and by threats against democratic norms; the false choice between Jewish safety and inclusive and participatory democracy; and what we can do to build solidarity and actively fight antisemitism on a national, state and local level.   Attendees will receive tools and resources from New York Jewish Agenda, The Nexus Project, and the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism to help take action, locally and nationally, because defending democracy and fighting antisemitism must go hand in hand.
