Attend the screening of All We Carry at B'nai Jeshurun, co-sponsored by Shaaray Tefila and the Synagogue Coalition on the Refugee and Immigration Crisis. This award-winning 2024 documentary by director Cady Voge follows a young family's extraordinary journey fleeing persecution by narcotraffickers in Honduras and enduring months in U.S. detention. After their release, a local synagogue sponsors the family as they await the final decision on their asylum case. Over three years, the family navigates countless life-altering moments where memory, joy, and grief collide.
In light of growing risks to immigrant communities, this film offers a chance to reflect on the resilience of those seeking safety and the role we can play in creating welcoming spaces. The event will include a brief talk-back after the film, and homemade food will be available for purchase from directly impacted immigrant members of the community.
