5th Annual Smash the Stigma Event:
A Jewish Communal Conversation on Mental Illness & Suicide
Temple Sharith Israel – 2 West 70th Street

Held annually during Mental Health Awareness Month and co-sponsored by a consortium of neighborhood synagogues and Jewish institutions including Temple Shaaray Tefila, these profoundly important Smash the Stigma events help to raise awareness and facilitate conversation about the difficult realities of mental illness and suicide in the Jewish community.

We hope you’ll join us in support of the 1 out of 5 of us who live with mental illness and the other 4, who are our friends, family, fellow congregants, colleagues, neighbors, and more. These issues affect us all.

This year’s panel will include:

Rabbi Lauren Grabelle Herrmann
SAJ
Mother of a child who struggled with depression and suicidality

Amy Danziger Tenenbaum
Temple Shaaray Tefila
Lost her sister to suicide

Dr. Rachel Levine
The Jewish Center
Clinical psychologist

Matt Kudish
NAMI-NYC
Chief Executive Officer
