The Israel Engagement Committee is proud to present
a fascinating and remarkable program
"Combatants for Peace"
Thursday, December 14, 2017
Founded on the belief that the cycle of violence can only be broken when Israelis and Palestinians join forces, Combatants for Peace is the only organization worldwide in which former fighters on both sides of an active conflict have laid down their weapons, choosing to work together for peace and justice. The organization was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017.
Elik Elchannan, a former IDF soldier in a combat unit, and Osama Elewat, a former member of the Palestinian police force, will be sharing their personal stories of transformation from violence to nonviolence and will speak about the work they are doing to bring peace and justice to their homeland.
In addition to the speakers, there will be a screening of a short clip from the recent, award-winning documentary, Disturbing the Peace.
This is an event not to be missed. To RSVP, please complete the form below. All are welcome.
