Join us as we celebrate Pride Month with Emet Ma’ayan, a transgender Jewish professional, social worker, and educator. His children call him “Ima,” the government calls him “male,” and his mom still calls him “daughter.” Emet will share his journey toward living life with authenticity.
Emet Ma’ayan has a Masters in Jewish Communal Service and a Masters in Social Work. He has been working with nonprofits for 30 years, including founding Fathers Building Futures, a social enterprise for fathers returning home from prison. Emet is a past President of Congregation Nahalat Shalom, where his leadership guided them out of financial crisis to become a thriving congregation.
