REEL ISRAEL Summer Film Series
For four Wednesdays throughout the summer, Temple Shaaray Tefila offers you the chance to step out of the summer heat and join us for special Israeli or Israel-themed films. Each film is preceded by a brief discussion about the movie's topic, led by a member of our Adult Education Commitee. All are welcome to come and enjoy. Drinks and snacks are provided.
The Thin Line, by Michal Bat-Adam
Israel's first female director who directed feature films. This film won awards, and is autobiographical, focusing on mental illness and how a family deals with it (her mother suffered from it).
To Take a Wife by Ronit Elkabetz.
This is the first firm in the Viviane Amsalem trilogy that Elkabetz directed (and acted in). We saw the last one, Gett, last year.
Dimona Twist (Documentary) by Michal Aviad.
It is about the settlement of Jews from Sephardic countries being settled in the desert.
Moon in the 12th House by Dorik Hakim
This film is about a relationship between sisters who chose different paths.
